Located in a small, fertile valley in the municipality of Victoria, in the state of Guanajuato, Arroyo Seco is one of the most representative rock art sites in north-central Mexico. Human occupation in this area dates back to around 7000 BCE and continued until approximately 1800 CE. The archaeological zone preserves 46 pictorial ensembles that include hundreds of graphic motifs, with human figures being the most prominent.
The lithographs reproduce depictions of people engaged in various activities, along with zoomorphic and plant-like figures, offering insight into the symbolism and daily life of the ancient communities that once inhabited the region.
