Finest example of the Chalchihuite Culture. Possibly founded by priests emigrated from Teotihuacan to the plains of Zacatecas, the museum houses a rich collection of finely made instruments, jewellery, figures and offerings, including the symbol of the eagle and the serpent.

This museum is a fundamental space for understanding this pre-Hispanic urban center and the cultures that developed in the Malpaso Valley.

One of the most outstanding colonial buildings in Zacatecas, it contains an excellent collection of the greatest painters of the period. Complemented by a fine collection of academic and popular sculptures of the religious art of New Spain.
