From the town of Tlapacoyan, take the Federal Highway towards Plan de Arroyos to the settlement of Santiago. From here cross a hill on foot in the direction of the river. From the archeological zone of Vega de la Peña you can also reach Cuajilote on foot, as they are only 2.5 km apart.
