
Castillo de Teayo
An ancient Huastec town, one of the most important sites on the Gulf of Mexico, its material remains show the influence of Maya, Toltec and Mexica cultures, at different stages of its history. It has a magnificent pyramid topped by a temple.
One of the most important sites of the Gulf of Mexico because of its blend of cultural influences, reflected in its material remains. This pyramidal plinth has three volumes finished off with an upper platform on which a temple was built. The architectural style is from the Huastec and Mexica cultural traditions. Its sculpture was also heavily influenced by the Maya and the Toltecs.
