Nadzca'an
Surrounded by thick jungle, this city was discovered in 1993 and little is known about it. The great number of buildings, as well as their size, are proof of the importance it attained. It is remarkable that a great many stelae were found inside the structures.
Discovered and named by the archeologist Florentino García Cruz in 1993, Nadzca'an is a city located on a plateau with three architectural groups built during the Classic (250 AD to 1000 AD). It has several commemorative monuments and one of them has a glyph of the Calakmul emblem. The two plazas, ten buildings and ballcourt that we can see show the transition from the Peten to Rio Bec style.
The main groups are: the Ah Kin Group, the Chi´ik Group and the Bec Group.
