Tecpan o Palacio del tlatoani
Estructura
On the west side, on top of the platform, sits the building that was the dwelling of the ruler. On the eastern side is the stairway, which reaches 4 meters in height above the platform; it has a double alfarda topped by cubes at the top. The whole construction is formed by basalt blocks glued with lime mortar and pulverized tezontle. The building was covered with a layer of stucco painted red.
Marker ring: This element indicates that in Chimalhuacán the ball game was practiced.
Sculpture of snake and anthropomorphic figure: They correspond to the substructure of the Palace (1200-1430).
In the staircase of the Palace, the alfardas and the cubes that finish them off can be appreciated.
