The exhibition brings together works by Mexican and international artists—considered pivotal to the development of contemporary art—who lived and worked in Mexico during the 1980s and early 1990s. Their artistic practices stem from experiences shaped by exile, as well as reflections on the archaeological past, the historical landscape, the vernacular, and the sociocultural phenomena of their time.

As part of the 45th anniversary of the Museo Tamayo, *Ante el eclipse. Arqueologías del arte en México* proposes a dialogue with the thought of Rufino Tamayo and with the museum’s early period. The exhibition is conceived as an exercise in critical review that invites us to reconsider the role of history in shaping contemporary ways of making and imagining art.

Admission: $95
