(Des) ordenar la colección desde el género
The exhibition is conceived as an exploration and an invitation to reflection. By reexamining the collection through a gender lens, it offers a critical perspective that allows us to recognize what was omitted, silenced, or normalized, as well as what can be questioned and transformed today.
The introductory section, Portraits of Women, brings together images of women in various roles, highlighting some of the many significant contributions they have made over time.
The exhibition is then organized into three thematic sections: The Naked Body and Gender Imagery, Reinterpretation: Women in Religious Painting, and Affections, Power, and Violence. These sections present a selection of paintings, sculptures, and prints grouped around themes such as the body, sexuality, spirituality, gender roles, imaginaries of love, abuses of authority, and gender-based violence. These themes open a space for reflection on both the past and the challenges of the present.
