The exhibition *Remedios Varo: Inhabitants of the Unusual* is dedicated to the visual and symbolic universe of Remedios Varo, in which archetypal figures and scenes that straddle scientific exploration and mystical ritual intertwine. Her work constructs an imaginary realm in which imagination, alchemy, and knowledge merge to give shape to highly complex visual narratives.

The exhibition brings together the artist’s pictorial collection held by the Museum of Modern Art, along with a selection of materials that offer deeper insight into her creative process. These include preparatory sketches, sketchbooks with images and visionary narratives, as well as playful and psycho-humorous experiments. Also included are books from her personal library, which serve as a window into the literary and symbolic universe that nourished her artistic practice.
