Concert: Música coral en clave de Gol, con el Coro de Niños Cantores de Tepotzotlán, conducted by Ernesto García Velasco.

The Tepotzotlán Children’s Choir presents a concert celebrating the cultural diversity of some of the countries participating in the World Cup. Through choral music, the audience will embark on a musical journey through different regions of the world, discovering rhythms, languages, and traditions that reflect the identity of each nation.

The program features works by classical and contemporary composers, as well as popular and traditional songs from countries such as Ghana, Sweden, France, the United States, Tunisia, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico. Highlights include Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World,” ABBA’s “Thank You for the Music,” Astor Piazzolla’s “Libertango,” and “México en la piel.”

This concert demonstrates how music and soccer have the power to unite cultures and emotions across borders. The Niños Cantores thus become cultural ambassadors who, through their voices, promote connection, harmony, and appreciation for the world’s rich musical heritage.

It is a great pleasure for the Museum to present on this occasion a choir as emblematic of Tepotzotlán as the Niños Cantores. It was founded in 1999 by the Society of Friends of the National Museum of the Viceroyalty, with the aim of continuing the musical tradition established by the Jesuit priests during the viceregal period.  Their repertoire ranges from early, viceregal, and Mexican music to works by the great composers, Broadway musicals, folk music from around the world, and contemporary songs. The current director is Maestro Ernesto García Velasco.  They recently celebrated twenty-five years of representing Tepotzotlán through their music.
