The exhibition brings together various artists who, between the 1940s and 1970s, developed abstract painting and sculpture in Mexico. Drawing on a book by Juan García Ponce, the exhibition explores abstraction as an artistic language linked both to aesthetic experimentation and to the intellectual and social concerns of its time.

Organized into three thematic sections, the exhibition explores the relationship between abstraction and images of the past, the dialogue between art and philosophical thought, and the ways in which abstract artists responded to the challenges of their historical context. Through representative works from the period, the exhibition offers insight into the diversity of approaches and artistic pursuits that defined the development of abstract art in Mexico during the second half of the 20th century.
