La Colección. Redes y trayectorias del arte mexicano en la Colección del MAM, 1910 - 1950
The exhibition offers a new critical interpretation of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, examining how discourses on Mexican art and national identity were constructed between 1910 and 1950. Drawing on iconic works and historical documents, the exhibition analyzes the links between art, politics, memory, and cultural institutions in the context of post-revolutionary Mexico.
The exhibition brings together works by key artists of this period, including Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Remedios Varo, Rufino Tamayo, Olga Costa, Lola Álvarez Bravo, and Juan O’Gorman, whose works invite reflection on the multiple narratives that defined Mexican visual culture in the first half of the 20th century.
