Archeology PhD from the ENAH and Michoacan INAH Center researcher, José Luis Punzo Díaz has directed the Museum of Northern Cultures in Paquime as well as the archeological sites of La Ferrería in Durango, and Tingambato and Tzintzuntzan in Michoacan. He has published around twenty academic and popular articles, and five popular science books. His main research areas are connected to earthen architecture, pre-Hispanic metallurgy and the application of geomatics to archeology. He is also involved with museum studies research and the development of museum communities.
