Jorge Luis Amao Manríquez is a historian who has dedicated himself to teaching and research for several years. He has been the Director of the Baja California Sur INAH Center and he works as part time research professor at the Autonomous University of Baja California. He is the author of the book Mineros, misioneros y rancheros de la Antigua California published by INAH and Plaza y Valdés Editores. He is currently working on the topic of the story of rock painting in the Baja California peninsula.
