Architect specializing in the conservation of archeological monuments. He has worked with several multi-disciplinary teams in this area at the National Institute of Anthropology and History. He made an important contribution to the conservation of the Temple of the Feathered Serpent of Teotihuacan, directed by Rogelio Rivero Chong. He subsequently took a doctorate at the University of Austin, Texas, studying in-depth the way in which the human mind places value and meaning on ancient public buildings such as the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan, the Pantheon of Rome and the Alhambra in Granada. He has published articles in Mexican and international journals, as well as the book Teotihuacán: Una ciudad para toda Mesoamérica (SEP/ Editorial Planeta Mexicana). His PhD was published in English by Ashgate Architectural Heritage Revisited: A Holistic Engagement of its Tangible and Intangible Constituents, while the Spanish version was published by the Fondo de Cultura Económica. Vit Suzan currently has operational responsibility for the Dzibilchaltun archeological site, and with the archeologist Rubén Maldonado Cárdenas he directs the Comprehensive Conservation Project for the Temple of the Seven Dolls.
