Graduate of the National School of Anthropology and History where he obtained an MA in Anthropological Science specializing in archeology. He joined the National Institute of Anthropology and History in 1973 as a researcher, also carrying out archeological rescue and salvage work. He has worked in various of the states of Mexico such as Morelos, State of Mexico, Michoacan, Guanajuato, Nayarit, Morelos and Chiapas. He directed projects such as the Guanajuato dams project in partnership with the French Archeological Mission in 1978 and the Itzantun Project in Chiapas. He has worked on the research, excavation and consolidation of archeological monuments in Quintana Roo since 1985, focusing on two research projects: the Xcaret Project which lasted six years and then the Coba Project which is still ongoing. He has supervised theses as well as being a panel member for numerous professional exams. He has delivered a number of conference papers and has written several articles.
