Its collection covers the most important aspects of the region’s history, from pre-Hispanic times to the first half of the 20th century. Opened in 1988, the Colima Regional History Museum is housed in a historic Porfirian-style building originally constructed as a residence in the early 19th century on Portal Morelos. Together with the Cathedral or Minor Basilica, the Government Palace, the Hidalgo and Medellín Porticos, and the Jardín Libertad, it forms part of the city’s architectural heritage.
