Museo Nacional de las Intervenciones
Lugar
Dedicated to the foreign interventions that Mexico has suffered throughout its independent life, it was founded in the old convent of Churubusco, a site of historical relevance where one of the battles was fought against the North American invaders in 1847. It constitutes an example of a historical museum and site museum, which protects and exhibits diverse collections dating back to pre-Hispanic times.
Throughout ten rooms, the visitor finds a clear explanation of the historical processes and armed interventions in Mexico during the 19th and 20th centuries. Above all, the Independence, the Spanish intervention of 1829, the French interventions of 1838-1839 (the “Cake War”) and 1862-1867, as well as the American interventions of 1846-1848, 1914 and 1916, are addressed.
