Museo de Sitio de Monte Albán
INAH
It opened its doors in November 1994 and was one of the achievements of the Monte Albán Special Archaeological Project. It covers an area of 1,200 square meters and is divided into permanent exhibition areas and a temporary exhibition hall. The collection consists of 650 archaeological artifacts, including stone engravings, utensils, and figurines made of ceramic, shell, and bone. It also displays the treasure from Tomb 7, discovered by Alfonso Caso in 1932. It is worth noting that this pre-Hispanic site was designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site—along with the city of Oaxaca—on December 11, 1987.
