Fanny López Jiménez

Archeologist trained at the National School of Anthropology and History, with a master’s in Mesoamerican Studies from the UNAM Faculty of Philosophy and Letters.

She has taught and researched at UNAM and the University of Sciences and Arts of Chiapas (UniCACh) since 1997. She has also managed several archeological projects. She took part in the Palenque Special Project as a research archeologist, and she was in that role for the discovery of the Red Queen of Palenque in 1994. She has published more than a dozen articles in national and international journals, and she has also given papers at a number of conferences at national and international levels. She established and subsequently coordinated the bachelor’s degree course at UniCACh.

She currently directs the Regional Museum of Chiapas.
