Luis Pedro Gutiérrez Cantú

Architect trained at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi (UASLP), taking an MA in urban planning at the University of Guanajuato. He has an MA in History. He is currently Director of the Regional Museum of San Luis Potosi of the National Institute of Anthropology and History. He won the State Prize for Heritage Conservation. He has worked as a Professor at upper middle level teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of the Center of Mexico (UCEM), the Marist University and the UASLP. He has won scholarships from the State Historical Archive, the San Luis Potosi Historical Research Center, the National Fund for Culture and the Arts, and from the San Luis Potosi Council for Science and Technology. He won the Atanasio G. Saravia prize for Regional Mexican History managed by the the Banamex Cultural Fund in 2004-2005 with the now published work La Provincia de los Llanos: Charcas 1550-1610; he is the co-author of the books Imagen e historia minera. Charcas, siglos XIX-XX and de Imágenes del agua y la sociedad. Los fotógrafos de Moctezuma en el siglo XX.
