Juan Antonio Siller Camacho

Architect trained at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Archeology degree from the National School of Anthropology and History (ENAH), MA in restoration from the Manuel del Castillo Negrete National School of Conservation, Restoration and Museum Studies (ENCRyM), Museum Studies MA also from ENCRyM and PhD in architecture supervised by Dr. Paul Gendrop. Founder and member of the Pre-Hispanic Architecture Seminar and editor of Cuadernos de Arquitectura Mesoamericana of the UNAM Architecture Faculty; national CONACYT researcher I; council member of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Mexico; coordinator of the Scientific Committee of the Cultural Routes and Itineraries and member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), Mexico. INAH researcher from 1977 to the present. Has participated in the preparation of the historical monument catalogs for Mexico City, Baja California and Morelos, and in the updating of the catalogs for Oaxaca and San Cristobal de Las Casas. For the past 30 years he has taken part in international projects in Peten, Guatemala with Guatemalan researchers, with trips focusing on architectural identification, conservation and publications. He is postgraduate Professor of the UNAM Architecture Faculty, and was previously a Professor at ENCRyM and other Mexican universities. He has published several books articles and essays, and has participated fortnightly in cultural heritage radio programs of the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos for the last 13 years. He has also been an interview guest on INAH radio.
